Session 21-22: Ambush at the Coast; A Lonely Hill to Rest Upon
Successfully ambushed, the Harmonious Hunters break into combat. The redhead boy reveals himself to be Seven Tyleean, the girl his twin sister Eight Tyleean. They reveal that they are from the same orphanage Toni is from but were a few years younger. Eight uses a degree of arcane trickery to steal Vordia's enhanced wand, and the rest of the party flock to her to focus their attacks. Mistress Steele controls the battlefield with her Graviturgy while Seven attempts to cut through the Hunters' defenses. Trading blows, Eight goes down and is not looking good. Steele rushes to save her and brings her behind a rock. Vordia casts a fireball at the bunched group, and Seven goes in to patch up Eight behind a different tree. Gab duels with Steele across the battlefield and knocks her down. Onika uses their Graviturgy to lighten the tree the twins hide behind as the rest of the team knock it down on top of them. Seven, panicking, raises his katana to absorb the weight of the tree, but it is not enough to stop the blow from killing Eight. In horrid sadness, he surrenders. The party help lift the tree off the two of them and Seven starts unleashing attacks into Patch who just stares at the monstrous sight, taking each hit without emotion. Scenes of the soldier who killed Vow and Patch pass through their mind as they envision themself as that soldier standing over Seven and Eight instead. Moments before Seven's frenzy kills Patch, Toni steps in and stops him. The Hunters negotiate with him and Justice casts Gentle Repose on Eight's body. Seven takes the party to their hidden wagon and Gab and Vordia urge him to go find a cleric who can revive her. The two take off and Toni ties up Mistress Steele to a tree. They interrogate her and Gab takes her cool scale mail dress. They learn more about the familial bond those in Whitebloom hold. She convinces the party to let her go alive and then simply misty steps out of the ropes that bind her. The Harmonious Hunters continue on their travels, but Gab receives a Sending message from Steele saying that it was an honor to finally meet her prophet.
The group travels along the coast until they come to a small fishing village. They enjoy pleasant hospice from an old-timer and ponder stealing a boat. They discard the idea and continue on their path. Facing various small threats along the coast, the friends find themselves amongst a heavy rain. They find themselves camping under a small cliff. Vordia confers with Voidfeather Queen Myrcia and asks more about Thrasha Leiunete. She learns more about the illusive deity: about her chosen champions being both blessed and cursed. Throughout her watch, Justice shoots awake screaming. Vordia and Toni comfort her and she says that Leiunete called her "Eno". The rest of the night passes easy and the travelers continue on their journey.
After a few more days of walking, the group stumbles upon a seemingly abandoned village atop a rocky hill. It seems like a good spot to rest, so they enter. The climb up the hill is exhausting, and they all find themselves more and more tired. By the time they get to a building to rest in, actions become increasingly tiring. Patch also begins to feel sleepy and freaks out because this shouldn't be possible for an automaton. Vordia goes to sleep and is wrought with awful pain instantly. Everyone becomes suspicious of the building they entered and realize that they are not alone. Gab casts detect undead and feels multiple presences from the bedrooms as well as one larger one beneath their feet. Everyone wakes up and decide to leave this creepy place; but as soon as they begin to move, the hill itself rumbles and then rises. Something cracks in the center of town as the land itself splits in two, revealing a massive eyeball. The Harmonious Hunters find themselves atop a Medior Maius.
