Session 9 - Restless Night

Waking up after the midnight scare, Filtar found Patch still awake. He asked them if they wanted to go on a walk or get breakfast. They agreed and the two found themselves at a rather nice back-alley diner called the Silver Skillet. Patch gaslit Filtar into thinking it was a date more or less while Filtar was trying desperately to learn anything abut Patch and failing. Filtar ordered a coffee and apple juice and then mixed the two together while Patch ordered a scrap skillet that they stuck in their pocket "for later".

Meanwhile back at Onika's house, Vordia and Toni--one of whom is still covered in blood-- wake to hearing Onika up to something in their lab. They go up to see them in a pile of machines and books, packing up the place. They're super down about it but say it probably is not safe for them. They give Toni one of their old toys that they made when they were younger. The three console each other from all the stress of the past few days and help pack. Toni goes to to clean off the blood.

Back at the Skillet, a few interesting figures exit out of a bookshelf-door. A few of them give Patch some interesting looks, and the two on their little "date" follow them... not very stealthily. The gang members, their tattoos revealing them as Gaelen members, confront the two. A tense conversation ensues, where one steps forth asking to inspect Patch. They agree, and with some taps and clicks their chest cavity opens up. Inside a prismatic crystal glimmers, illuminating the gang member's face. They scan along the inside of the chest cavity, to see a marking: "ETN-J.S." Filtar is kind of freaked out and runs away.

Filtar eventually returns to Onika's house, saying that Patch has been kidnapped by a gang and they urgently need the rest of the party to come help. Gab is still asleep, so Vordia, Toni, and Onika join Filtar to retrace steps. When they get back to where they had the confrontation, Patch nor the gang remain.

After Filtar had left, Patch had talked with the gang members. The one who was inspecting said that he had some interesting knowledge that might be of interest to them, and to meet them at the bookcase with a specific knock if they felt they wanted to learn. With that, the robot and the Gaelens separated, and Patch started to walk back to Onika's house. When Patch arrived, nobody was there except for Gab, sleeping evermore. They sat on the bed with Gab and just relaxed.

The rest of the party follows Patch's tracks and eventually come back to Onika's house, where they all feel like idiots, Filtar especially. The hunt had taken them much of the day, so they planned on where to stay. They figured the Whispering Woad would be able to hold them for a bit, so they head there. They get some rooms at least for the night, and Toni, Vordia, and Onika strike up some conversation with Ariatiana. Ariatiana, who Onika lovingly calls Ari, goes about embarrassing Onika with stories of their childhood. The two seem to be pretty good friends. Vordia eventually goes up to one of their two rooms. Onika is completely embarrassed in front of Toni, and Toni eventually goes up to a room. Onika eventually joins them but gets super embarrassed in front of Toni again and goes to a different room.

With their emotions vented and laughs to be had, the party rests.
