Session 2 - Roll Investigation!
Waking up after a restful night of performance and good food at the Whispering Woad tavern, the party begin their morning routines and woke each other. Patch had a peculiar dream, which Toni noticed, but nothing came of it. As they were getting ready, Vordia intimidated the barkeep, Ariatiaana (for some reason I don't remember). Patch wanted to investigate into the strange patron of the Whispering Woad whose room lied in between both of the party's rooms. After climbing the outside of the building into the patron's open window, Patch found a guy obsessively constructing kites. Realizing he wasn't a threat, Patch let themselves fall out of the window. The party decides what they want to do for the hour before they were supposed to meet with Onika, and three of the party, upon Toni's request, went to Greenhall to get some good 6AM gambling in. They met with an interesting character named Capitoline Flashlight who enticed them into playing some Whitequeens, to which Toni had lost all three of the gold she had to her name. Overcome with panic, Vordia and Gab pulled her out of there. Meanwhile, Patch went over to Onika's neighborhood to scout out the place and ask about Onika from the locals. A grumpy old man showed up and essentially said that Onika doesn't get out enough but is a smart kid. He also told Patch to get out before continuing on his morning walk. Eventually, the party all gathers at Onika's house and they return to the workshop, where Onika gives the party two sending stones and briefs them on the mission. They head out, and begin their hike over to the dead Maius. On the way, they learned a bit about each other in how they navigate the wilderness, coming across various feats of nature, showing that their path had been walked along before. During the travel, Vordia had a brief meeting with Myrcia in private where she learned of a sort of "frenemy" being sent to watch after her after hearing about her collapse in the desert. The moment was tense, but overall the report was fine, Raven Queen Myrcia taking a keen interest in Patch as Vordia described them. There were varying conversations, including those about each of the party's families, and where they learned what they did. On one of the final nights of travel, Patch spotted two traveling, armored folk appearing to walk as well towards the collapsed Maius body. Mistrust brewed among the group, but eventually they made it, to where they were greeted by two other seeming investigators and researchers of this corpse. One of them was eager to make a bit of friendly competition, while the other seemed fairly done with this mission in the first place. From here, the investigation of the Maius begins.
